It hosts the businesses of HP Large Format Printing and the newly created HP 3D printing, having the responsibility for the Research and Development (R&D), Marketing and Operations for them. The selected candidate will be part of the 3D printing multi-disciplinary R&D team located in Barcelona but with strong collaborations with international locations. Job Description
We are looking for an experienced R&D Electrical Engineer used to deal with electrical cabinets to work in our R&D 3D printing Multi Jet Fusion technology printers.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and compile 3D printing design requirements for his/her subsystem
Select design alternatives based on analysis of requirements and specifications
Collaborate with system architects and other disciplines to define 3D printer electrical architecture
Own design, development and verification of 3D printer electrical cabinets and power distribution
Collaborate and communicate with management, internal and outsourced development partners, regarding design status, project progress and issue resolution
Represent the electrical hardware team in different phases throughout the project lifecycle
Document all the R&D designs and handover documentation to the production team
Required qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in electrical cabinet specification (power distribution, power control and/or automation), manufacturing and testing.
Strong analytical decision making and problem solving skills
High level of initiative with an ability to plan and manage tasks autonomously
Ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one’s own group
Open minded to quickly adapt his/her strategy to changing environments with fuzzy specifications
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language
Design for Functionality, Usability, Reliability, Performance and Supportability
Experience leading PLC-based automation projects for industrial machinery. Including requirements gather, specifications, schedule management and documentation generation and maintenance
Experience with Eplan Electric P8 or similar electrical wiring design tool
Design for safety, machinery and EMC worldwide regulations
Experience in specification, design, manufacture and testing / commissioning of electrical cabinets. Applications for power distribution, automation and control, containing both industrial parts and custom electronics
Desired qualifications
Experience designing PCBA (electronics schematics design and PCB testing)
Microcontroller-based systems design
Power electronics circuit design (AC/DC, DC/DC, AC/AC, inverters)
Software programming languages such as C/C++
Scripting languages such as TCL, Perl and/or Python
Design for harsh environments: humidity, dust, water…
Cadence Allegro PCB Design tool expertise
High volume manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing guidelines
