Senior 5G Researcher

The Mobile Wireless Internet (MWI) research area is looking for a Senior 5G Researcher willing to get involved in three exciting Research and Innovation projects:

• The H2020 5G project 5GMED (https://5gmed.eu/), contributing expertise in mobile network architecture. The researcher will be involved in a railways use case where a high speed train provides 5G connectivity services to passengers while roaming between 5G networks in Spain and France.
• SNS Target-X (https://target-x.eu/), where the MWI group leads a WP related to development of CCAM services over 5G networks.
• UNICO 6G Twinroad (https://i2cat.net/unico/6gtwinroad/), where the researcher will coordinate research activities involving network wide optimizations for CCAM services based on a realistic network data set.

As part of his regular work the researcher is expected to:

• Represent i2CAT at EU and national project meetings
• Define algorithms and protocols applied to wireless technologies
• Generate patent ideas
• Generate results and lead scientific publications
• Make technical presentations
• Work with network prototypes. Requires expertise on Linux networking stack

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office two days per week: one to stay connected with your team and another one to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency. We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.
