Job description

The i2cat Foundation is looking for a Cybersecurity Programmes Lead to join our Research&Innovation Strategy in Europe (RISE) team.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for positioning i2CAT in the European, Spanish and Catalan Research and Innovation ecosystem programs to facilitate the acquisition of funding and participation in research and innovation projects related to
Cybersecurity and its applications.

Among its main tasks, the candidate will have to:

  • Identify funding opportunities in Europe/Spain/Catalonia
  • Provide expertise and advice to i2CAT related to the different funding opportunities in the field of cybersecurity
  • Contact with relevant ministries and public agencies
  • Support to the preparation and submission of projects to different financing programs
  • Interact (and manage if needed) with research and innovation initiatives and/or groups related to strategic areas relevant for i2CAT/ACC
  • Use your/our contact network to establish research collaborations

The i2CAT Foundation is a non-profit research and innovation center that promotes mission-driven R&D activities on advanced Internet architectures, applications, and services. More than 15 years of international research define our expertise in the fields of 5G, IoT, VR, and Immersive Technologies, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, AI, and Digital Social Innovation.

The center partners with companies, public administration, academia, and end-users to leverage this knowledge in order to meet real social and   business challenges.

What do we offer?

  • Work from our offices or from home, whichever works best for you. We ask for two days in person at the office to coordinate with the rest of the team.
  • This is a full time vacancy

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established telework policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We ask that you attend the office two days per week, one to stay connected with the team and the other one to establish relations.

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency (we do not have opaque rooms). We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.

Requirements

Minimum requeriments:

  • Engineering, B.Sc. or Master’s degree in computer science and specialized
    training in cybersecurity strategy.
  • Spanish & Catalan native
  • Fluent in English
  • Good knowledge of the European and National R&I Programmes (e.g. Horizon Europe and RETECH) and especially those related to security.
  • Ability to plan and conceive the strategy and prospective research and innovation funds of cybersecurity Area.
  • Ability to create, maintain and develop partnerships with regional, national and european public entities in charge of (cyber)segurity.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience: minimum of 4 years in the cybersecurity sector, contacts in the Cybersecurity sector

Desired requeriments:

  • Experience in taking leadership roles in R&I European proposals (evaluator or
    manager).
  • Master’s degree in business administration and training in management and benchmarking activities.
  • Contacts in international and national public agencies (H2020, CDTI, ...)
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills
  • Proven experience in proposals success
  • Experience in Research ecosystems
  • Experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence…)
