Job description

The department of Digital Social Technologies (DST) of I2CAT company is looking to incorporate a new member who understands the world of technology, culture, industry, digital, green and society. In all cases, we are looking both from qualitative and quantitative perspective, who is familiar with the fourth helix model and its dynamics, who has enough cultural intelligence to work in interdisciplinary environments, and is aligned with digital, green and social transition. Must be a person oriented to human-centred technologies and innovations with proved experience in dealing with the parts of forth helix organizations separately as well as a whole.

 

This person will work for a European project titled: INTEGER-4H-INTERNNECTING 4 HELIX INNOVATION ECOSYSTEMS IN EUROPEAN REGIONS INTEGER project is focused on challenge-driven promotion of healthy living. It will bring forward three important innovations for the development of more robust, sustainable, inclusive and integrative EU innovation ecosystems: (INTEGER 4 Helix Collaboratory model to implement the next generation of living labs, the ‘Collaboratories’; A EU Healthy Living Collaboratory, a true network of networks’ community with capacity to work on real social, tech and business-driven projects, and a new professional profile, the ‘collaber’ or ‘collaboratory manager’ as a multiplying agent of change of these integrated innovation ecosystems.

The i2CAT Foundation is a non-profit research and innovation center that promotes mission-driven R&D activities on advanced Internet architectures, applications, and services. More than 15 years of international research define our expertise in the fields of 5G, IoT, VR, and Immersive Technologies, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, AI, and Digital Social Innovation. The center partners with companies, public administration, academia, and end-users to leverage this knowledge in order to meet real social and business challenges.

What do we offer?

  • Work from our offices or from home, whichever works best for you. We ask for two days in person at the office to coordinate with the rest of the team.
  • This is a full-time vacancy

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office two days per week: one to stay connected with your team and another one to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency. We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.

Requirements

Specifically, tasks will be related to:

  • Experience in EU project management
  • Background on healthy living domains
  • Knowledge on regional innovation ecosystems, specifically the Catalonian
    regional ecosystem
  • Capacity building skills
  • Expertise on gathering and systematisation of information
  • Experience in implementing collaborative processes among different actors
    (policy makers, social stakeholders, academia and business)
  • Knowledge of the European initiatives on Healthy living and wellbeing
  • Background in living lab methodologies

We will appreciate:

● Ph.D. Degree and background on Healthy living domains as a social
researcher
● Experience in Technology-society relations from applied perspective.
● Understanding and dealing with processes of R+D+i.
● Experience in dealing with public administrations, social actors, research
centers and professional communities
● Experience in project management and with transfer of knowledge
