Job description

We are looking for a Technology R&I Programs Lead to join our European Commission Research and Innovation Policy and Strategy Area.

Among the main tasks, the candidate will have to:

  • Become a member of the EC R&I Policy and Strategy team within i2CAT
  • Support the elaboration of a map of funding opportunities in EU programmes and the necessary matching with i2CAT capabilities in the short-term and long-term strategic vision
  • Foster business development in EU programmes
  • Explore collaboration opportunities and synergies in areas in which i2CAT's experience is still maturing (such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and particular sectors like Mobility and Industry)
  • Manage the participation of i2CAT in strategic proposals
  • Represent i2CAT in events and associations (e.g. BDVA) of interest for i2CAT for establishing a strategic positioning and capture future opportunities
  • In the short-term, the selected candidate will participate in the 5GMED and FORGING projects (recently approved) with tasks such as community building, policy making, assessment, organization of events, liaison with EU initiatives, among others

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office two days per week: one to stay connected with your team and another one to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency. We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in participating in R&D and innovation projects
  • Experience in creating opportunities for projects through networking
  • Knowledge on digital technologies and/or its application in key vertical sectors (mobility, health, industry, …)
  • Project management and/or Innovation management background
  • Experience of participation in any European Partnership or previous PPP (BDVA, ECSEL, 5GIA, …) related to the Horizon Europe programme
  • Availability to travel
  • High motivation and enthusiastic attitude

Desired requirements:

  • PhD in Engineering field (Telco, Computer Science, Electronic, etc.) will be a plus
  • Proven experience in successful proposal preparation
  • Spanish / Catalan will be valued
  • Proven experience in coordination of projects
  • Wide contacts in the EU R&I landscape
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills
