Vacancies: 1
Discipline: R&D
Work modality: Hybridi2CAT Foundation is looking for a Telecommunications/Computer Engineer to work on research projects related to IoT technologies.
The successful candidate will join one of the projects of the MWI group to work on the implementation and development of IoT solutions and their evaluation in real environments. Specifically, the person will work in one of the following areas of application:
- LPWAN technologies (Low-Power Wide Area Networks) in different areas of application.
Characterization and research of existing LPWAN alternatives and their evolution in the context of 5G and beyond. Study and comparison of technologies in terms of fundamental aspects from their application in the market (scope, consumption, scalability, availability, cost). Optimization of technologies to improve their performance applied to different use cases. Technologies based on non-licensed bands (e.g. Sigfox and LoRA) and cellular technologies such as NB-IoT or LTE-M will be taken into account. The person will perform theoretical analyses and will also carry out experimental validations by implementing prototypes (HW/SW).
- Localization and positioning solutions based on IoT technologies
Evaluation and implementation of systems based on the use of one or more technologies to improve existing positioning or localization solutions. For example, in the field of logistics, i2CAT is working on the development of solutions based on the use of UWB and VLC for monitoring or positioning assets indoors. It will investigate the improvement of existing solutions and the application of these and other technologies to other areas of interest.
It is expected that the selected candidate will have the capacity to work fairly autonomously and will gradually acquire responsibilities for any of the project's work packages to be executed.
Aquest projecte sera finançat per el projecte FemIoT amb codi de referència FEMIoT-IU16-011479, cofinançat per el Fons Europeu de Desenvolupament Regional (FEDER).
