Job description

The New Space Communications Area is looking for a Manager with experience as a researcher in space field, investigating inter satellite communications and small- satellites technologies.

As part of his regular work the researcher is expected to:

  • Research on LEO-LEO and LEO-X satellite-to-satellite communications mechanisms and resource federation
  • Research on 3GPP 5G implementation in satellites and SDN/NFV impact
  • Research on prediction mechanisms for LEO satellite-to-satellite contacts
  • Research on integrating Internet of Thing protocols in LEO satellite platforms
  • Research on medium access mechanisms for massive ground systems
  • research on new constellation simulation tools
  • Development of in-orbit platform for future research
  • Research on cloud services over satellite constellation
  • Research on beamforming for satellite-to-satellite communications

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • PhD in Philosophy on satellite communications
  • International research experience
  • Hands on experience in Satelite LEO missions
  • Have (at least) a h-index and i10-index of 5 
  • Knowledge on Federated Satellite Systems, Satellite Networks, Internet of Things, Internet of Satellites, RFI, and Inter-Satellite Links.
  • Knowledge on software and hardware developments
  • Experience on CubeSat missions and stratospheric balloon missions
  • Experience on project management

Nice to have:

  • Proficiency on English and French language
