Job description

The Media & Internet Area (MIA) at i2CAT Research Foundation is looking for a Junior Project Engineer, focused on exploring VR/AR technologies. 

 

MIA Area brings together a team of both, researchers and engineers tasked with exploring new ideas in the VR/AR sector. This position calls for close collaboration with researchers, developers and engineers designing the next cutting edge immersive technologies that will be delivered within national and European projects.

Your responsibilities:

  • Implementation of AR user interface
  • Implementation of VR environments
  • Work together with a team of researchers, developers and engineers
  • Collaborate with an international team of partners developers

i2CAT Foundation is a non-profit research and innovation centre that promotes mission oriented R&D activities on advanced Internet architectures, applications and services. The centre stands for a new open innovation framework, fostering the collaboration between companies, public administration, the academic environment and end-users.

This position will be funded by the project GAMIFLCATION FOR MEMORABLE TOURIST EXPERIENCES-MedGAIMS (A_A.1.3_0209) of the call of the programme ENI CBC MED for standard projects of 2017

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of Vuforia Engine
  • C# programming experience
  • knowledge of 3D engines like Unity/Unreal
  • English professional proficiency
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, make-it-happen, lead-by-example attitude
  • Keen to learn new technologies and gain new skills

 Nice to have:

  • C/C++ programming knowledge
  • Knowledge of concepts as VR, AR, light fields, volumetric video, stereo and 360º video
