The I2CAT Foundation is looking for a post-doc researcher to apply for a MSCA Fellowhip. More information about MSCA Call here.
Since the last decade, the video research community and industry are strongly focusing on immersive technologies. Relevant examples include Virtual/Augmented/eXtended Reality (VR/AR/XR) scenarios, volumetric/holographic conferencing, and interactive shared experiences. These technologies typically involve advanced systems and formats for the generation of 3D assets and volumetric video. In the context of distributed and interactive eXtended Reality (XR), AI, and Neural based processing become essential to improve the representation, compression and transmission of 3D video paradigms.
i2CAT (Barcelona, Spain) is opening a postdoctoral position to advance the research field in AI based 3D Video processing technologies. The research will be focused on the design, development and evaluation of techniques for the enhancement, upsampling and compression of formats such as Volumetric Video (point clouds), Light-Fields and 3D assets, with a particular focus con techniques such as NeRF, AI driven Supersampling, Occlusions removal, Neural or Convolutional Network Based 3D Video Compression among others.
The ideal candidate masters one, or more, of the following research fields:
It is expected that the work to be carried out will result in high-quality prototypes, scientific publications and even potentially standard-compliant contributions. The candidate will be integrated with an experienced cross-disciplinary team, and will closely interact with relevant industry and academic partners under the umbrella of national and European projects.

What do we offer?
Where will you do it?
At i2CAT we already have an established telework policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We ask that you attend the office two days per week, one to stay connected with the team and the other one to establish relations.
If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.
Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency (we do not have opaque rooms). We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.
i2CAT is an organization committed to equal opportunities. That is why we seek to increase the number of women in those areas where they are underrepresented, and therefore explicitly encourage the female collective to apply.
i2CAT is an organization committed to diversity and we seek to increase the number of people with disabilities in our team.
