The i2CAT Foundation is a CERCA centre that aims to lead the challenge of designing and building the future digital society through research and innovation in advanced digital technologies.

i2CAT is a constantly growing organization with extensive experience leading and developing research and innovation projects at the national and international scale in 5G/6G, Internet of Things (IoT), immersive and interactive technologies, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain, space communications, and digital society technologies.

The centre leverages this cutting-edge knowledge to promote innovative value-added initiatives that improve the lives of citizens, the environment, and industry. i2CAT focuses its activity on the following pillars:

• The generation of excellent knowledge to tackle the challenges of companies, citizens, and public administrations.
• The collaboration and synergies with other stakeholders of the local research and digital innovation ecosystem to co-develop solutions and products that generate a transformative impact.
• The digital empowerment of citizens through digital, open, participatory social innovation.
• The contribution to the digital innovation strategies and policies aimed at increasing the international projection and visibility as a digital and innovative country.

What are we looking for:

We are currently seeking PreDoc students that are finishing his/her PhD or PostDoc researchers that have experience in or more of the following fields and want to carry on their resesarch career:

• Smart Networks & Services (5G, 6G, IoT, etc.)
• Immersive & Interactive Technologies (VR, IR, AR)
• Cybersecurity & Blockchain
• Space Communications
• Artificial Intelligence Driven Systems
• Distributed Artificial Intelligence

What do we offer:

Work from our offices or from home, whichever works best for you. We ask for two days in person at the office to coordinate with the rest of the team.

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office two days per week: one to stay connected with your team and another one to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency. We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.
