The group holds expertise in development of network service orchestrators and end-to-end network slicing for enabling dynamic and rapid service provisioning (including complete network service lifecycle) over cross-domain SDN/NFV based multi-tenant 5G networks. Last but not least, the groups has a strong track record on the development and prototyping of new Internet architectures, with a special focus on RINA (the Recursive InterNetwork Architecture).
Our Software Networks department is seeking a RESEARCH ENGINEER for R&D projects in the ICT sector to work on the design, planning and execution of R + I + D activities. In particular, the researcher will work within the SN group, on the topic of NFV MANO over multiple heterogeneous virtualized infrastructures, using RINA as a network virtualization solution to provide connectivity to distributed virtual network functions. This work is carried out under the framework of a nation project called, OPEN-VERSO (Open, Virtualized demonstrators for Smart Networks).
The candidate will report directly to the area director and will have the capabilities to manage and lead particular technical aspects within European projects to ensure their successful fulfilment.
