Descripción de la oferta

The Internet of Things Research Area of the i2CAT Foundation is seeking an IoT Researcher to be involved in two different projects.

The sucessfull candidate will join the IoT group to work on the proposal, design, implementation and development of Environmental Intelligence solutions and their evaluation and application to different real environments.

The selected candidate will be involved in the following areas within the IoT group:

  • Optimized architectures and protocols for the Internet of Things (IoT).

Participation in the design, proposal, implementation and evaluation of mechanisms, architectures and protocols that allow optimizing communication between the different elements of an IoT network. Specifically, i2CAT starts from previous projects based on the application of the RINA architecture to IoT. RINA is an alternative to the traditional Internet protocol stack that improves the performance of data communications. The hired person is expected to contribute to further advancing research in this line.

  • Implementation and experimental validation of IoT Environmental Intelligence prototypes.

The successfull candidate will work on the design and implementation of experimental IoT prototypes that explore the application of environmental intelligence technologies to improve context capture and interaction with the environment. Intelligent mechanisms will be explored for the processing and sharing of data between sensor devices and actuators that allow efficient use of network resources and maximize their performance. Experimental validation of solutions in different areas of application (for example, domestic, industrial environment...)

  • Elaboration of competitive proposals and technical achievement of projects.

Active participation in the different phases of the achievement of technical projects, from the drafting and preparation of competitive proposals (for example, Horizon Europe) to the technical execution of the project. It is expected that the hired person has the ability to work fairly independently and to assume the role of principal researcher in one of the projects, leading the work groups involved and taking responsibility for the achievement of the set technical objectives.
