Networked Systems Test Engineer

Our Software Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking a Networked Systems Test Engineer to join our team and contribute to improve the deployment and delivery workflow and the quality of i2CAT research areas solutions. Also he/she will help other areas of the organization that need advice on networks, distributed enviroments  and software architecture. Finally, he/she will work side by side with our QA Engineer helping him in the test automation. 

The successful candidate is expected to:

• Support research areas to define testing enviroments and methologies. Research areas work in technologies related to Mobile Networks, IoT, Software Networks, Satelite Networks, Vehicular communication, extended reality (XR) and Cybersecurity.
• Setup and deploy test enviroments (including HW & SW).
• Design and executed test plans.
• Analyse test results and report bugs o problems to research areas.
• Explore tools to automate code deployment in the test enviroments and test execution .

In addition to the previous mentioned responsibilities we expect that the selected candidate can also help and advice other i2CAT areas on networks, cloud, operations and software architecture. 

Our Software Engineering team is formed by a multidisciplinary team  where you will be able to collaborate with FrontEnd & Backend Developers, QA, Scrum Master, etc.

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office two days per week: one to stay connected with your team and another one to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency. We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.
