We are looking for a Smart Mobility Strategy Lead to join the European Commission Research and Innovation Policy and Strategy Area of i2CAT.

This area is responsible for contributing to the definition of the long-term positioning of i2CAT in the research and innovation arena to sustain its growth and expansion and maximize its positive impact and return in society and economy.

The selected person will be the responsible for the definition of the CCAM strategy at i2CAT. Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) is a very active and consolidated area of research and innovation. i2CAT is already embarked on several projects and initiatives related to CCAM at both the European and National levels. The selected person will be the responsible for the definition of long-term strategies and overall coordination of all the activities related to CCAM at i2CAT.

In the next 3 years, the main responsibility of the selected candidate will be to join a key European project focused on designing the 5G Strategic Deployment Agenda, involving actors such as the CCAM Association, the Smart Networks and Services (SNS) Joint Undertaking (https://6g-ia.eu/sns-ju/), the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), and many more key stakeholders. This activity has as a framework the CEF Digital program for 5G Corridors (https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/activities/cef-digital).

In addition, the candidate will have to:

  • As a member of the EC R&I Policy and Strategy Team, contribute to the alignment of the national and European strategy for i2CAT, with particular emphasis on CCAM activities.
  • Ensure a strategic alignment of all activities related to CCAM and conducted at i2CAT.
  • Provide expertise and advice to i2CAT related to the different funding opportunities related to CCAM.
  • Represent i2CAT in strategic alliances and relevant national for a relevant to CCAM.
  • Contact with relevant ministries and public agencies.
  • Promote and lead strategic alliances with key stakeholders in the CCAM domain.
  • Use his/her contact network to facilitate the incorporation of i2CAT in research consortia.

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office two days per week: one to stay connected with your team and another one to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency. We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.

Requisitos

Minimum requirements: 

  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both oral and in written.
  • Engineering, B.Sc. or Master’s degree in any field of relevant to i2CAT’s technologies and aligned with any of the fields related to CCAM.
  • Experience participating in competitive and collaborative R&I projects.
  • Good knowledge of the European R&I Programmes (e.g. Horizon Europe), especially those related to CCAM.
  • Ability to represent and promote the organization in European and national events.
  • Ability to create, maintain and develop partnerships with universities, research institutions, companies, and public administrations.
  • Willingness to travel.

Desired requirements:

  • Fluency in Catalan.
  • PhD in any field of engineering relevant to i2CAT activities.
  • Experience in taking leadership roles in R&I European projects (task leader, WP leader, project manager, or technical manager, etc.).
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Be a nice, friendly, and energetic person.
