R&D Senior Software Engineer

The Software Engineering Group (SEG) at i2CAT is looking for an R&D Senior Software Engineer. SEG activity is focused on the development of prototypes and technological proof of concepts for multiple innovation projects with customers, but also for competitive, international research projects granted through public funding bodies. SEG works in close cooperation with i2CAT research areas.

The selected candidate will be working on different projects related to eXtended Reality (XR) technologies that leverage advance connectivity delivered by 5G and beyond networks. The candidate will work in close cooperation with i2CAT's Media Internet research area (MIA), providing technical leadership to the team of MIA R&D engineers and researchers in topics related to software engineering and XR technologies implementation. 

The successful candidate will carry out the following roles:

• Lead the adoption of agile software development technologies and tools, including: Scrum, continuous integration and continuous deployment
• Software architect in projects related to XR technologies
• Senior developer in projects related to XR technologies implementation

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established telework policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We ask that you attend the office two days per week, one to stay connected with the team and the other one to establish relations.

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency (we do not have opaque rooms). We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.
