ALBA is the Spanish Synchrotron Light Source, a large research infrastructure open to researchers from all over the world, offering them instruments to advance in the knowledge of fundamental properties in life and material sciences and to solve societal challenges.
It is managed by CELLS (Consortium for Construction, Equipment and Exploitation of the Synchrotron Light Laboratory), jointly funded by the Spanish State Government through its Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades and the Generalitat de Catalunya through its Departament d’Empresa i Coneixement. The facility combines the operation of present instruments with the construction of new ones, merging high-level reliability with exciting challenging new projects, many of them carried out in
collaboration with national and international institutions. Innovation and technology transfer are one of the priorities.
LEAPS - the League of European Accelerator-based Photon Sources (https://www.leaps-initiative.eu/) is a strategic consortium initiated by the Directors of European Synchrotron Light Source and Free Electron Laser (FEL) user facilities fostering collaboration and joint developments for better serving the scientific community and the society. In the next years, ALBA will be chairing and co-chairing LEAPS.
Function:
The position offers a unique opportunity for professional development by working at the Director´s Office, and in the Industrial Liaison Office, on a collaborative, multicultural, international and stimulating work environment.
We seek a highly motivated individual to deal with intensive international management activities, industrial and innovation projects.
The functions of the successful candidate are two-fold:
- To support the Facility Director on LEAPS management activities such as:
+ General support for the LEAPS project
+ Organization and follow-up of meetings, conferences, teleconferences, workshops, etc.
+ Update of web-site documentation
- To support the Industrial Liaison Office in fostering and managing collaborations with the industry and in providing general support to ALBA in innovation and technology transfer.

Requirements:
Qualification and Experience: Essential
- University degree in a scientific or science related management discipline
- Experience in comparable positions or in international R&D projects
- Understanding of project planning and reporting requirements
- Profound interpersonal, oral/written English communication skills
- Fluency in Spanish or Catalan

- Familiarization with synchrotron light sources or large R&D infrastructures
- Self-initiative and analytical skills

- The duration of the contract will be three years, with working conditions accordant to CELLS regulations
