5G Researcher Jr.

The Software Networks (SN) research area of i2CAT is looking for a Jr. 5G Researcher to work in the framework of a national project called ONOFRE2 (TEC2017-84423-C3-1-P). The project focuses on the integration of communication systems (especially optical and satellite) into 5G edge. This project is running for 2 years already and we are following some research lines, such as:

• Use Cases and Architectures
  • Operators and Eterprise-based Environments
  • Slices in Constrained Environments (IoT, Edge, etc.)
  • Innovative service and applications
  • Smart-X slice mobility
• Network Softwarizations, Management and Orchestration
  • Virtualization of Satellite and Optical Elements
  • Software Defined Networking for Converged Technologies
  • Common operations and API
  • Inter- and intra-slice Interactions
  • Lifecycle Management and Orchestration
  • High Availability and Reliability Techniques
• Standarization Trends and Activites
  • Status and progresses in 3GPP/ETSE/IETF/5GAA and other SDOs
  • Slice-enhaced Networking and Telecommunication Protocols
  • SDN/NFV iniciatives

The sucesful candidate is expected to work on one of the above mentioned topics.

i2CAT Foundation is a non-profit research and innovation centre that promotes mission oriented R&D activities on advanced Internet architectures, applications and services. The centre stands for a new open innovation framework, fostering the collaboration between companies, public administration, the academic environment and end-users.
