isardSAT is a service firm that provides engineering and scientific research services within the Earth Observation field. Headquarters is located in Barcelona, Catalonia, having a subsidiary in Guildford, UK, and Gdansk, Poland.
isardSAT is involved in the design, calibration and maintenance of civil remote sensing instruments, which means from the development of algorithms for data processing to calibration after launch and maintenance of the instrument's hardware and processing software until decommissioning phase. isardSAT also performs studies for scientific applications with the data acquired by these instruments.
isardSAT technological and scientific projects can be classified as related to on-board processing, Level 1&2 processing, and calibration. The ESA satellites isardSAT works with related to those projects, up to date, are ERS-1/2, EnviSat, SMOS, CryoSat, Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-6.
isardSAT scientific applications projects are mainly hydrology, relate to irrigation, health, water resources management, flood and wild fires forecasting; and glaciology and oceanography.
isardSAT also has a recent line of expertise on climate change mitigation and forecast.

Job description
We are looking for Graduate in Telecommunications engineering, Physics, Maths, or other relevant discipline for our R+D team.
The primary role of the selected candidate will be to participate, support, develop, and eventually run, projects in the Earth Observation field, which include development and implementation of algorithms.
The scientific algorithms are typically under Linux operating systems, and the most frequently development languages are MatLab, C/C++ and Python.
We offer a great work environment and the chance to work with an international multidisciplinary team. Specific training from senior experts will be also provided.
This position requires travelling to European countries for meetings. It is a great opportunity to foster a career in remote sensing in projects of scientific excellence and worldwide reputation.

Applicants are expected to have a university degree (MSc) in Telecommunications engineering, Physics, Astrophysics, Applied Mathematics, Earth and Planetary Sciences, or a related area. Experience with altimetry processing is considered an asset. Applicants with a PhD and interested in this research are also invited to apply; they will be considered for a 3-yr post-doc position. Applicants must also be proficient in spoken and written English.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
• Telecommunications Engineering, Physics, or Maths degree.
• Good grades in Maths and Physics.
• Very good knowledge of C/C++, Python and/or MatLab.
• Have an aptitude for problem solving, self-motivated: be able to work as an individual and as part of a team, able to communicate effectively with a range of people, to work to tight deadlines in a logical manner and with attention to detail.
• Permission to work in Catalonia.
• Interest in Earth Science and Space Industry.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
Any of the following would be beneficial to your application but not compulsory (do not reframe from applying if you do not have them):
• Previous experience in Earth Science and Space Industry, particularly in the use of Earth Observation Satellite data.
• PhD in any Remote Sensing subject.
