Kingfisher plc is a global leader in the retail home improvement sector. The group operates more than 1,100 stores and growing omnichannel operations across 10 countries in Europe, Russia and Turkey. It employs 74,000 people, and nearly six million customers shop in its stores and through its websites every week. Its main brands are B&Q, Castorama, Brico Dépôt and Screwfix.

Based on deep knowledge of controls activities, operations and transversal processes, the Internal Audit Department work in conjunction with the CEO and Senior Management to reach company goals.
Objective for Audit works and constructive recommendations is to provide assurance that activities and risks are managed adequately in compliance with regulations and Group policies

Role Objectives:

· Creation of the local department.
· Develop an audit approach and programme of work for operations and processes to provide an appropriate level of assurance to the Brico Dépôt and Kingfisher Audit Committees.
· Manage 1 Auditor, based in Barcelona, to deliver corporate audits, Store audits and risk assessments of financial and operating processes, to identify opportunities for improvements where risks exist and make practical recommendations.
· Realize risk -based audits in line with international standards and Kingfisher methodology.
· Ensure audits are fairly rated and actions agreed are realistic and appropriate. Ensure clear and concise reports.
· Ensure the progress of agreed actions for key risks are tracked and followed-up.
· Raise critical issues promptly with the relevant Leadership team, making recommendations for improvement and ensuring they are effectively resolved.
· Adapts plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
· Provide regular updates to Leadership teams, Board Directors and relevant governance meetings (e.g. Audit Committees, Health & Safety) on the status of operating controls and make recommendations for improvement.
· Ensure best practices are shared across business teams and OpCos
· Develop competencies of the team.

Requisitos

Essential skills:
· Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to gain the respect and attention of all levels of management to Board level.
· Decision making - able to make sound judgments based on balancing any operational risks against the impact (or benefit) to the customer.
· Resilience
· Spanish mother tongue or bilingual, Portuguese, proficiency in English and /or French (mandatory)
· Self-confidence which leads to natural Empathy and Relevance

Knowledge and experience:
· Excellent knowledge, understanding and experience of retail operating processes
· Minimum post qualification experience of 5 years.

Minimum level of education or qualifications:
· Master (or equivalent) in Business, or Finance
· CIA/ IIA / ACA qualified preferably or with relevant experience
