Job description

Our Research and Innovation policy and Strategy in Europe (RISE) area is looking for a Cybersecurity Funding Attraction Consultant to join the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for positioning i2CAT/ACC in the European, Spanish and Catalan Research and Innovation ecosystem programs to facilitate the acquisition of funding and participation in research and innovation projects related to Cybersecurity and its applications.

Among its main tasks, the candidate will have to:

  • Identify funding opportunities in Europe/Spain/Catalonia
  • Provide expertise and advice to i2CAT/ACC related to the different funding opportunities in the area of cybersecurity
  • Contact with relevant ministries and public agencies
  • Support to the preparation and submission of projects to different financing programs
  • Interact (and manage if needed) with research and innovation initiatives and/or groups related to strategic areas relevant for i2CAT/ACC
  • Use your/our contact network to establish research collaborations

More than 15 years of international research define our expertise in the fields of 5G, IoT, VR, and Immersive Technologies, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, AI, and Digital Social Innovation. Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office two days per week: one to stay connected with your team and another one to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency. We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • Fluent in English
  • Extensive knowledge of the European, Spanish, and Catalan R&I in Cybersecurity funding initiatives.
  • Ability to represent and promote the organization in events
  • Ability to create, maintain and develop partnerships with universities, research institutions, companies, and public administrations
  • Willingness to travel
  • Cybersecurity expert
  • Experience: minimum of 4 years in the cybersecurity sector, contacts in the Cybersecurity sector
  • Soft skills: empathy, teamwork capacity, flexibility, proactivity, and leadership

Desired requirements: 

  • Knowledge in innovation and project management
  • Experience in an innovation office or an innovation department, in competitive projects in the field of Cybersecurity
  • Experience in managing teams and complex projects.
  • Knowledge of the Agència de Ciberseguretat de Catalunya 
  • Contacts in international and national public agencies (H2020, CDTI, ...)
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills
  • Proven experience in proposals success
