Immersive VR, AR and XR technologies represent the new growing paradigms in the video and multimedia area. Concepts as light fields, volumetric video and holoportation are the new target formats that are representing crucial challenges for Virtual Reality related research fields.

i2CAT is currently working on innovation projects, focusing on:

• XR applications
• Unity Development

We are opening a Project Engineer position, focused on exploring VR/AR technologies. You will work with a team of researchers, developers and engineers designing the next cutting edge immersive technologies that will be  delivered within national and European projects.

Your responsibilities:

• Implementation of VR/AR environments and interfaces
• Work in a team of researchers, developers and engineers
• Collaborate with an international team of partners developers

Your Skills:

• Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• C# programming experience
• Knowledge of 3D engines like Unity/Unreal
• Knowledge of concepts such as VR, AR, XR
• English professional proficiency
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive, make-it-happen, lead-by-example attitude
• Keen to learn new technologies and gain new skills

Nice to have:

• C/C++ programming knowledge
• Knowledge of concepts as light fields, volumetric video, stereo and 360º video

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office two days per week: one to stay connected with your team and another one to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency. We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.
