Job description

As a Tech Transfer Coordinator you'll be responsible for defining the strategy and roadmap of technologies, mostly coming from R&D projects, to the market.

i2CAT research areas generate technology assets (software libraries, SDK, algorithms and other intellectual property results) that need to be transferred to existing ICT companies or spin-offs via licensing or joint-venture agreements, who will take over the responsibility to exploit the technology in form of product and/or services.

You'll be in charge of the tech transfer activities:

  • Work closely with the R&D teams to manage the technology roadmap.
  • Understand the technical essence of inventions and analyse the commercial potential (market fit, value proposal...)
  • Coordinate the technology protection among all the public and private agreements: access rights in consortium agreements and service proposals, patent application among others.
  • Define the go-to-market strategy and business model for the technology, by licensing-out or spin-off creation
  • Provide technical support to the business area in the sales process regarding intellectual property rights and tech transfer agreement conditions.
  • Provide guidance and support to the board of management for spin-off creation and follow-up, including shareholder's agreements, business model, entrepreneur recruitment and investment analysis.
  • Contribute to the organization's cultural change to tech-transfer by promoting, supporting and training i2CAT's staff.

Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
