Our Digital Societies Technologies area is looking for a social research technologist to lead the research and innovation program of this new area. Since the beginning, the i2cat Foundation was designed a new kind of col·laborative lab to promote Internet research and innovation in Catalonia. Since then the center has developed a long set of projects related with the design of open and collaborative labs as new structures of the digital societies: living labs, citizen labs, digital social innovation lab, and more recently labs related with citizen rights and responsibilities in the digital society. These projects has complemented the Internet research program of the institution. Times has come to establish this new area of tecnologies of the digital society (DST) oriented to the co-creation and co-design of new digital societies as collaboratories, new digital social estructures and values of the knowledge era.
The main responsibilities of the successful candidate are:
-To help to establish the new field of tecnologies of digital societies and its connection with digital social innovation, social innovation and theories about what digital societies can be.
-To foster the collaboration with other International research groups and institutions working in the same direction, particularly the European Network of Living Labs, the European School of Social Innovation, the Bristol Digital Future Society, and the Digital Future Society fòrum.
-To participate in all the innovation projects, particularly in Catalonia, oriented to validate the hypothesis of our research program. Research and innovation in this field are completely interconnected and work in a peer to peer relationship.
-To work closely with the Catalan public administrations, companies, research bodies and civil society of all the Catalan territories in order to co-created research and innovation públic policies for the digital era.
-To promote the education and learning activities as part of the research and innovation activities in this field.
This person will participate in all kind of projectes related with social innovation, digital social innovation and its related fields.
