Innovation Space Manager

i2CAT Foundation is seeking a dynamic Innovation Manager for our Space Communications Area to drive the strategic development and management of our NewSpace initiatives. As our innovation area is currently growing, this role is crucial for enhancing our capabilities and ensuring efficient task distribution among team members. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Innovation Management, or a related field, with proven experience in project management within the tech or space sector. Fluency in English and additional languages is highly desirable.

The Innovation Manager will be responsible for developing and managing our Public NewSpace strategy in collaboration with local, national, and international stakeholders, and overseeing the exploitation team to bridge the gap between our research outputs and market needs. This role requires a seasoned leader with robust communication skills, adept at navigating complex stakeholder relationships and capable of translating customer needs into viable product offerings. By joining us, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining i2CAT's competitive edge and contributing to the forefront of space communications technology.

Some responsabilities of the candidate:

1. Manage and develop the Newspace strategy with Public stakeholders, collaborating with local, national, and international stakeholders.
2. Oversee the exploitation team responsible for facilitating the connection between research teams and potential customers.
3. Serve as a liaison between customer needs and research teams to ensure that developed products meet market expectations.
4. Coordinate and lead product planning meetings, setting priorities, and ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
5. Continuously evaluate and adapt innovation strategies to maintain competitiveness and relevance in the market.

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office one day per week to stay connected with your team and to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.

Our offices are designed with an open-office concept where everything is light and transparency. We have a variety of workspaces so that you don't have to be at the same table all day.
