Junior AI Engineer

We are looking for an intern to work with the Distributed Artificial Intellgence (DAI) area on a temporary basis (6 months). The candidate will work on the TEADAL project within the research topic of "decentralized AI for distributed data architecture optimizations" alongside junior and senior engineers and team members.

In particular, we are looking for a candidate to explore the application of decentralized AI techniques, such as Swarm Learning, MARL, etc., to provide solutions that optimize the energy consumption of edge-cloud environments. Preference will be given to MSc students who want to do their MSc thesis (TFM) with the team.

• Learn how to perform a literature review of the topic, under the supervision of senior members of the team
• Design and implement a decentralized AI algorithm using state-of-the-art techniques
• Set up experimental environments and perform experiments to evaluate the results of the implemented solutions
• Collaborate with other team members on achieving the objectives mentioned above
• Possibly collaborate on writing scientific publications based on the implemented work and achieved results

Where will you do it?

At i2CAT we already have an established ‘work-from-home’ policy for some time. You can work from home or from the office, whichever suits you best. We expect that you attend the office one day per week to stay connected with your team and to engage with other colleagues

If you decide to come to the office, we are located in Zona Universitària, next to the Campus Nord of the UPC, within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. It is a very well-connected area (metro, tram, bus) with bars and restaurants around.
