What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a PhD in Economics to perform mainly teaching and research in areas related to Macroeconomics and the Economic Environment. The successful applicant is expected to contribute to the education of both undergraduate and graduate students with a proven record of effective teaching in English.

We offer

  • A full-time contract in a dynamic and international scientific environment in the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at UIC Barcelona (Social Science Campus, in Barcelona).
  • An assistant lecturer, 4-year position with a yearly evaluation.
  • A competitive salary in accordance with university salary scales
  • Start date: September 2021

- Essential requirements.

The candidate must have:

  • A PhD in a discipline related to the position.
  • A minimum of 1 or 2 years of postdoctoral experience.
  • A minimum of around 180 hours of teaching experience with good results in terms of student satisfaction.

The following characteristics from the candidate’s CV will be assessed:

  • Proven record of effective teaching.
  • Good presentation skills in English and/or Catalan/Spanish.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in both teaching and research.
  • The ability to supervise and guide undergraduate and graduate students in their research projects.
