Job description

Our Mobile Wireless Internet (MWI) research area is looking for a Senior V2X Researcher. In particular, the researcher will take the lead of the V2X research line within the MWI groups, having as main goals:

 

  • Development of the research strategy and roadmap of the V2X research line
  • Lead scientific publicationns
  • Definition of technological assets
  • Technical leadership of projects where the V2X reasearch line participates
  • Support H2020 project proposals dealing with V2X
  • Support end customer project proposals dealing with V2X
  • External Technical leadership of R&D projects where the V2X research line participates (e.g. technical coordinator or WPL roles in H2020 projects). In particular the selected candidate will assume the technical coordination for an H2020 project recently won by i2CAT.
  • Collaborate with the technical leaders of the IoT and 5G research lines within the MWI group, as well as other technical leaders within i2CAT

The V2X research line currently participates in several projects including the H2020 project CARAMEL project (https://www.h2020caramel.eu/), and several private projects where the team is developing custom extensions to an ETSI G5 stack as well as applications running on top of the stack. The team also has experience in network simulators that model mobility models as well as relevant V2X technologies (802.11p and C-V2X).

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • PhD in communications or electrical engineering
  • Proven research track in communications, including IEEE 802.11 and 3GPP
  • Experience leading technical teams

 

Nice to have:

  • Proven record track in FP7 or H2020 projects, occupying technical leadership positions (e.g. WP leader, technical coordinator)
  • Knowledge of the V2X R&D ecosystem in Europe and Spain
  • Proven expertise and research track in ETSI G5 stacks, IEEE 802.11p and C-V2X
  • Experience in developing customer oriented projects dealing with V2X technologies
