The successful candidate will work on a project focused on improving the location of vehicles so that they can know precisely where they are located on the road.
This information can be applied to use cases such as autonomous vehicle guidance or to improve circulation in emergencies / incidents (for example, for a better location of vehicles parked on the road).
Current GPS-based location solutions have a precision error that can be very large, especially in areas with poor satellite visibility. On the other hand, the use of LIDAR or image recognition mechanisms may present problems when the weather is not good. The use of technologies based on UltraWideBand would be an alternative to consider for the improvement of the location of vehicles.
