Job description

We are looking for a postdoctoral research fellow to join our team in the Marine Research Division of AZTI. The position is for a fixed term of two years and will be hosted at AZTI’s centre in Pasaia, Gipuzkoa (Spain). The successful candidate will be working in the project IndiRed, which aims to develop novel indicators of anthropogenic impact on estuarine and coastal ecosystems, based on prediction and ecological interpretation of interaction networks involving aquatic organisms from all trophic levels ranging from microbes to macrobenthos or zooplankton. This work relies heavily on high throughput sequencing of environmental DNA (eDNA metabarcoding) and numerical analysis of derived sequencing data. The project will involve collaborations, including research stays, with partners in Europe and Australia.
