Fundación para la Investigación Médica Aplicada

Cima Universidad de Navarra is a biomedical research institute of the University of Navarra, located in Pamplona, Spain. Cima's research in cellular and molecular biology, disease models and innovative technologies has a deep translational patient orientation and aims to address unmet medical needs.

Job description

The project is led by Dr. Fernando Pastor and builds on the group’s previous work(D. Meraviglia et al., Mol Cancer 2022; D. Meraviglia et al., Mol Ther Nucleic Acids 2022; M. Soldevilla et al., Mol Therapy 2019; M. Soldevilla et al., Biomaterials 2015; Pastor et al., Nature 2010). This project focuses on the role of Nonsense-Mediated mRNA Decay (NMD) in tumor immune evasion and
cancer progression, and explores aptamer-based immunotherapies targeting these mechanisms. The project is fully funded and carried out in a dynamic, translational research environment with access to state-of-the-art technologies and strong collaborative networks.
The successful candidate will lead studies aimed at uncovering how RNA surveillance pathways (particularly NMD) influence tumor antigenicity, using a combination of in vitro and in vivo approaches.
